 Breeding and exhibiting dogs is no easy job, anyone that says it is, is not doing it right. There are some folks out there that think it is an easy way to make a buck. Trust me, if one is breeding to make money, you don't want to be buying a dog/puppy from them! Raising a healthy, sound, quality dog of any breed takes alot of time, money, and heart. Of course it has many rewards(not financial)or we breeders wouldn't be doing it. However, the learning, the caring, the heartaches, never stop. Once a puppy/dog is sold, a good breeder is still commited to that dog----for life. "Now I Lay Me.......down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep." Occasionally, I have pet quality puppies for sale. The only reason these pups are called "pet quality" is because of some minor fault that most people would never take notice of, but in the show ring a judge would notice. In every other way they are wonderful, little creatures that only want what every dog wants: Someone to love them, and care for them for however long we are blessed to have them. I believe each chihuahua is very special in his/her own way and deserves to be treated as such. When I sell one of these babies(not before 12 weeks at least), it is with a spay/neuter contract. Each prospective home is screened thoroughly before a puppy is placed. Every puppy has a different and unique personality. Each puppy is placed in the home that I feel it will be best suited. Some people probably feel that I am too picky about where my dogs go.....I only want the very best for each one of them. If that is an issue, I tell people to look elsewhere---there are plenty of unscruptulous breeders out there that don't care where there puppies go. However, I will say that I am still friends with all the people that I have placed my dogs with! So, I can't be that bad!(grin) Blinkie says:"Let's play!" |
